hidden driver is an indie rock band out of tacoma, washington. the band features hugh schmidt (ORTHODOXXER, wellspring) on bass vi, liv on guitar, and trevor gallo on drums. in a seeming protest of the short-lived hype that many bands of the internet era are subject to, they quietly released their debut EP on december 31, 2023 to, in hugh’s words, “kill the release.” their songs span genres from power pop to emo, with some surprisingly folky lead guitar parts, and i’m stoked on every single one. you probably will be, too.
